Peter Koronakos’ Oddball Animal Show is returning this July to Artisan’s and agency.
This year’s show, entitled African Penguin to Zonkey; An Alphabet of Oddball Animals 2023, opens on July 1, and features another cast of 26 delightful, whimsical and/or humorous animal sculptures. Peter researches each actual animal before he constructs them, and always seeks to show the true character of that animal, for instance, the “squirreliness” of a squirrel, or the “monkiness” of a monkey.
This year’s show once again offers a treasure hunt to find the interesting reclaimed vintage objects featured in Peter’s work. This year’s show includes a Blue Bottle Firefly (illuminated with a blue light bulb), a Turkish Angora Cat, a UkraInian Riding Horse, a Keel-billed Toucan, a Queen Snapper and a Xalda Sheep, along with the twenty other animals that round out the alphabet.
