Each strand is one of a kind but the glass leaves will look similar to the those shown here. The glass leaves are individually hand cut from stained or recycled window glass (clear leaves), shaped, painted, kiln fired and slumped to attain its organic shape. They are then carefully drilled and suspended on fine stainless steel wire with aluminum crimps. They are strung horizontally so they appear to be drifting to the ground, and this also allows the wind to blow across them, rather than against them, making them safer to hang outside if desired.
Driftwood and stones gathered from Lake Michigan beaches adorn the top and bottom of the strands.
These glass leaves are far more durable than you'd think! The glass itself is around 1/8" thick, and the organic, dimensional shape of the leaf buffers a strike far better than flat glass. They can be hung indoors or out, and wall hooks are available for purchase for hanging on walls. The wall hooks hang the strands 3" off the wall and allow for many more decorating possibilities. For safe handling, there is a ring at the top large enough to put a finger or thumb through. And they can withstand even Wisconsin winters!
The strands are available in three lengths
18" long by approximately 3" around, 5 leaves.
3' long by approximately 3" around, 10 leaves.
6' long by approximately 3" around, 22 leaves.
