Oakland artist Mark Poulin packs a lot of love (and heat) into this tiny piece of wearable art. He starts by carving the original design in wax, then casts it in sterling silver. From there, the charm gets four coats of glossy vitreous enamel—fired at 1400°F for strength and rich color. As a final step, Mark screen prints one of his own illustrations in enamel and fires it again, locking in a vibrant, waterproof, and durable finish.
