Boxwood is an attractive evergreen that can reach heights of thirty or more feet. The slow growing dwarf variety is close clipped (a custom that began in Roman times) to make decorative edgings. The original model was made from cuttings taken at George Washington's Mount Vernon. The style has been licensed by George Washington's Mount Vernon Ladies Association and a portion of the sales of this design goes to their support.
