Born in Paris, Marie Gabrielle studied textile design and worked as a designer and colorist before moving to California, where a first watercolor class began a lifelong passion for the medium. In her Big Sur work, shifting coastal light and the drama of the landscape take center stage. Most of her paintings are created en plein air, and her work is internationally recognized and collected. Marie lives in Santa Cruz with her family and spends as much time as possible in Provence, France.
