Enamel Elephant Earrings

$ 115.00

Mark Poulin turns his sketchbook drawing of elephant into a small piece of wearable art in sterling silver and enamel. A longtime Artisans & agency artist, Mark has been making jewelry in Northern California since the 1990s, after the Loma Prieta earthquake destroyed his Oakland ceramics studio and pushed his work in a new direction.

For his enamel work, Mark carves the original setting in wax, casts it in sterling silver, and builds color with vitreous enamel fired at 1400ยฐF in four separate firings. An illustration from his sketchbook is then screen-printed in enamel and fired onto the surface for a durable, vivid finish.

  • Sterling silver with kiln-fired vitreous enamel
  • These tiny charmers measure 1/2" tall and wide, dangling from solid sterling silver lever back ear wires with a 7/8" drop
  • Made in California
