Barberry Wire Earrings takes its shape from barberry branches and berries, giving earrings a sculptural, just-picked-from-the-garden quality. Michael Michaud creates his molds directly from real leaves, branches and flowers, using a process related to lost-wax casting. The original plant matter disappears in the heat, but its veins, edges and surface detail remain in the finished form. The result is handcrafted in New York and feels less like a botanical motif and more like a tiny piece of nature you can wear. Bronze with gold accents and pearl accents.
