Charley Harper’s Little Sipper catches a ruby-throated hummingbird hovering at a morning glory, a tiny breakfast stop rendered in his unmistakable “minimal realist” style. The design translates Harper’s crisp shapes and playful observation into the rich color and dimension of Motawi ceramic tile. Motawi Tileworks makes each piece by hand in Ann Arbor, Michigan, continuing the studio tradition Nawal Motawi began in 1992.
