October is adapted from Charley Harper’s 2000 print October Edibles, bringing his midcentury “minimal realist” wildlife style into ceramic. The acorn-filled design is especially fun paired with Harper’s Autumn Edibles tile, but it has plenty of personality all on its own. It is handmade at Motawi Tileworks in Ann Arbor, Michigan, the studio Nawal Motawi founded in 1992 and built around richly colored, dimensional ceramic work.
