One of the most incredible aspects on nature is its ability to not only withstand, but thrive in harsh environments. When given just the right amount of typically scarce rainfall, many desert flowers will bloom at least once a year. Cacti and succulents are able to store water, so most of their flowers don't require rainfall to bloom. Even in the most unexpected places, Mother Nature prevails and gifts the world with beautiful blooms to admire.

This unique jewelry is made by creating molds directly from botanical elements in a process similar to lost-wax casting. While traditional lost-wax casting begins with a hand-carved model of wax, Michael Michaud instead uses an actual leaf, branch or flower in place of the wax model. A mold is created around the botanical element and as it is heated the plant matter burns away and leaves behind a beautifully detailed mold of itself.
