Honolulu-based artist Kris Goto brings island life to life—one meticulously inked line at a time. Her prints blend manga-inspired detail with breezy Hawaiian surrealism, where waves curl like dreams and characters float through scenes that feel both familiar and fantastical. A little local, a little global, and totally unforgettable.
“Life” is from the Manini series which was first exhibited at the Haleiwa Arts Festival in 2022. It is an annual outdoor festival the artist has been participating in since 2015. The series is also the artist’s first watercolor series. Each piece explores the relationship she’s had or currently has with the ocean.
